The ISO 20345:2011 standard specifies basic and additional requirements for safety footwear used for general purposes.
Dr Marten shoes are high-quality and suitable for all round use. Dr Martens have factories in both the UK and Asia. The components and materials of their safety shoes are the same in each country and each product is made with the same unique technology that has been used by Dr Martens for 52 years.
The Dr Martens ‘Made in England’ range is manufactured at Cobb’s Lane factory in Wollaston, Northamptonshire (where the original Dr Martens were made). The factory uses traditional shoe-making methods.
Dr Martens’ original UK factory manufactures smaller runs of safety shoes that are usually more elaborate than the products made in Asia, sometimes consisting of one-off designs.
