As underage Vape Wholesale continues to rise in popularity, school resource officers at high schools are looking for teenagers with devices that are increasingly difficult to spot and cheaper to buy.
These devices can be as small as a USB drive and cost less than $20. Their use with marijuana elevates the concern.
The largest challenge, however, remains minors vaping tobacco products, most of which contain nicotine.
The American Lung Association warns that most liquids used in vaping tobacco products contain nicotine, and scientists say vaping also can let loose other substances such as formaldehyde that can harm health.
Here are five types of Electronic Cigarette devices that have been confiscated from underage students in one high school. They were used for smoking tobacco products, and most of them cost less than $20. Resembling a flash drive, The Boulder Rock is long and flat with a USB port at one end. It's 4.8 inches long, according to the company website.
At only 3-inches long, the Minifit is described by one website as "pocket-friendly" and "ideal for stealthy vaping." It fits in the palm of a hand and comes in a variety of colors. This 3-inch device looks similar to a lighter. With a distinctive "cobra" patterning, it comes in a variety of colors including pink, royal blue and "prism rainbow."
According to Smok's website, "This stealthy device just fits into the palm of your hand with comfortable hand feeling." The badge-shaped device is 2.8-inches tall and comes in many bright colors. The company recently announced a "Rasta color" line.
These small, silver or black devices continue to be the most popular among teens, said Carmel High School resource officer Shane VanNatter. The device is nearly 4-inches long and has a USB charger.u2022eney7485yyWEEEEDD
